A recall has been released for certain 2021 model-year significant GM SUVs due to a problem related to the third-row safety belts.
The problem: in affected GM Sports utility vehicles, one or both of the 3rd row outboard seatbelts may have been unintentionally entrapped in or misrouted behind the outboard seat-folding mechanism. A seat belt in this particular condition may be damaged by seat folding mechanism. This issue can be traced back installing the third-row seat on the factory.
The hazards: a damaged seat belt may break during a crash. This could increase the risk of problems for the occupant.
The particular fix: sellers will inspect the 3rd row outboard seat belts for harm and correct the redirecting of the belt itself. Safety belts that are damaged will be changed. These repairs will be carried out at no cost to the vehicle proprietor. It is believed that lower than one percent of automobiles affected by this issue will need to have the particular seatbelts replaced. Most automobiles will simply need the devices to be re-routed.
Affected components: third-row outboard safety belts.
Proprietors should: proprietors of affected GM Sports utility vehicles will be contacted by the auto maker and instructed them to see their dealer. Those proprietors who may be unsure whether their vehicle is impacted by this recall can visit my. gm. com/recalls and enter their VIN to view any kind of open recalls or additional actions that may be active on their own vehicle.
