Guy Fieri is well known for their love of American food and their unusual fashion sense, but fans from the presenter and restauranteur may not realize that in addition to junk food, Fieri also has an enormous passion for cars. Fieri provides all sorts of high-priced metal in his selection, but one of his favorite first choice rides for getting from point-A in order to point-B is his custom GMC Sierra HD Duramax.
Fieri enjoys the torque his 6. 6L LML OF V8 turbodiesel Duramax motor produces, but being a true gearhead, the Columbus, Ohio native understands just how much power these turbocharged diesel powered engines are capable of making. To uncover the full potential of his GMC Sierra HD, he took their truck to Cartronics in Santa claus Rosa, California, which installed a whole suite of Banks Power components to increase the output and towing capacity of the diesel dually.
A few of the upgrades Cartronics installed in Fieri’s pickup include a Banks Ram Air flow cold air intake, Banks Derringer ECU (which alone is effective at adding 61 horsepower and a hundred pound-feet of torque) and a Banking institutions Monster five-inch exhaust. They also set up a Banks iDash Data Beast for adjusting the various settings from the LML Duramax engine, along with a Banking institutions Pedal Monster throttle response control. Last but certainly not least was your Banks Ram Air rear gear cover, which draws air set for additional differential cooling when dragging.
According to Cartronics and Banking institutions, Guy’s GMC Sierra HD obtained a total of 98 horsepower “and much quicker throttle response, ” because of these modifications. The 2018 design year Sierra HD is already great for 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet when stock, so the chef’s vehicle is making nearly 550 hp and well over 1, 000 pound-feet of torque.
