The automotive industry, such as the United Auto Workers marriage and major manufacturers such as General Motors, is pressing President Joe Biden in order to roll out tax credits along with other incentives that will help drive electric powered vehicle sales.
According to Reuters , the UAW plus two auto industry groups sent a notice to the Biden Administration recently calling for the White Home to put forth a “comprehensive plan, ” to boost ELECTRONIC VEHICLES sales “that takes the current market realities into consideration. ”
“Neither the current trajectory associated with consumer adoption of EVs, nor existing levels of federal government support for supply- plus demand-side policies, is sufficient to satisfy our goal of a net-zero carbon transportation future, ” the letter said,
In addition to the UAW, notice was also signed by the Connections for Automobile Innovation, which usually represents General Motors, Toyota and Volkswagen, along with the Engine & Equipment Manufacturers Organization.
The auto industry desires the Biden administration to place forth significant government taxes incentives and subsidies to back up both the purchase and manufacturing of EVs. The notice also called for the White Home to raise incentives for government fleet EV purchases, increase rare earth mineral exploration in the United States and back the introduction of new hydrogen vehicles.
The White Home is expected to release information on a new $3 trillion facilities plan this week, which may consist of setting up roughly 500, 500 electric vehicle charging channels nationwide. There are currently close to 100, 000 EV getting stations in America, according to Reuters.
