It seems Ford have been playing around using the Mach 1 name for some time, looking for the ideal fit for name plus machine. Resurrecting an old school muscle mass car name, brings with it lots of associations and they nearly missed the particular mark when the Mustang Mach-E nearly snagged the title.
Fans were clearly not happy by having an EV nicking the title, great it seems that the Ford Mustang Mach 1 will be coming back in 2021 as a possible replacement for the Mustang Bullitt. The Mustang is planned to become built at the Flat Rock set up plant, Detroit, which is due for the $250 million upgrade and the brand new vehicle should be part of these programs.
As to what the Mustang Mach 1 will house motor wise is currently up for speculation, however, many reports say the 5. 0L Coyote V8 could be a viable choice, with tweaked horsepower levels in order to 480HP. This will include an 87mm throttle body and possible operation ported from the GT350.
Although news is thin right now, the predicted upgrades should suggest the next decade should produce a few tasty vehicles from the blue oblong. To find out in what shape and type, check back for regular updates.
