If there’s one thing that can combine us in uncertain times, this is a love of our favorite cars. For more than three decades, the MidFlorida Mustang Membership has hosted the annual Ford & Mustang Roundup car show. This season, as a cascade of cancellations befell almost every other event as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the club’s show soldiered on at Reiter Park within Longwood, Florida, on March fourteenth.

“We started the club in 1981 and we’ve been in existence everything time, and we started this display that’s been around for 33 yrs, ” Bob Simmons, founding person in the MidFlorida Mustang Club, informed us. “We’ve had it right here (Reiter Park) for the last seven yrs. They have just been gracious so that as you can see, they opened everything as much as us and made it easy for all of us. ”
Given measurement by city officials to continue with all the event, the club’s Mustang & Ford Roundup extended its ability. Having over 200 cars preregistered, the show — which transported sponsorship from the likes of AmericanMuscle , National Parts Depot , and VMP Performance among others — provided a desired escape from the weather farther northern, as well as the news of the day.
“We have people from all of the Southern states around here, ” Simmons said of the show’s recognition. “We have people from New york, I think there’s one from Tn, and Arkansas. It’s a beautiful time of the year usually. ”
For all those in attendance, the club sets up the cars by generation, which makes it simple for fans of a particular era to look at those rides in one spot. Additionally, it simplifies the judging of the vehicles in the various generations. Among the honours given out were the City of Longwood Choice (Mayor’s Award); Longwood Law enforcement Choice; Popular Vote (for day-of show registrations and 2019+ models); and Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards in four judged lessons — Daily Driver, Occasional Motorist, Modified, and Concours. The membership also presented Judges’ Choice towards the most outstanding car from every generation, as well as the coveted Best Within Show award.
Whilst we weren’t handing out any equipment, we did peruse every vehicle in the show and pick out a number of our favorites for your viewing enjoyment. There were plenty of cars worthy of thing to consider, but here are ten of the standouts…
10. 2014 Shelby GT350
As the modern, Voodoo-powered machine is a high-revving, naturally aspirated wonder, there was the GT350 that immediately preceded this. Shelby American offered a GT350 package for the 2011-2014 Mustangs, plus Lisa Marshall is the proud proprietor of the 84 th example of 87 built in 2014. Hers is understated in Sterling Gray, and pumps out 634 horsepower courtesy of a Whipple supercharger atop its Gen 1 Coyote 5. 0-liter engine.
Speaking of Shelby GT350s, this second-owner 1966 illustration looked like it drove right out from the Swinging ’60s. Under the care plus feeding of Faren Lejeune because the summer of 1974, this K-code machine received fresh Ivy Eco-friendly paint and stripes, along with United states Racing wheels. In 2005 this gained a fresh engine courtesy of Tony a2z Lamb. In all, it is a sharp device that looks like it was fun to drive as much as Longwood from Orlando.
8. 2004 Mustang GRAND TOURING
A quick peek within J. Costello’s New Edge device revealed this is no mere road car. 6. 1990 Mustang SORENTO LX
James Bickham’s Titanium 1990 Mustang LX hatch has been among a group of outstanding Fox Mustangs on display at the 33rd Annual Mustang & Ford Roundup. It nevertheless looks as good as it did whenever we first spotted his Fox on the Steeda Stampede in 2017.
five. 1995 SVT Mustang Cobra Ur
For years, enthusiasts pined to get Ford to add a 351 Windsor under the hood of the Mustang once again. It never happened in the Sibel era, but in 1995, the Specific Vehicle Team developed a R-model version of the Mustang Cobra. Using a bare bones interior, a fine-tined suspension, big brakes, and three hundred horsepower, this version of the Cobra R was something special. 4. 1970 Boss 302
On a sunny Florida early morning, David Samuel’s 1970 Boss 302 simply glowed. Looking resplendent within Calypso Corral, this high-winding traditional looked better than it did in order to rumbled off the showroom floor a few 50 years ago. Having appeared over the cover of numerous magazines and catalogues, it was definitely a standout in the 33 rd Annual Mustang & Ford Roundup.
3. 2017 Shelby GT350
