As technology continues its quick advancement, all-in-one digital dashes have become more standard fare in race and other applications, taking what was every dashboard full of analog gauges plus transforming it into an unit very little larger than a cell phone — most of them also housing the brains associated with electronic fuel injection system within — that features all of your vehicle’s vitals in one fully-customizable device.
While dashboard retrofits can be designed if you wish to place a digital dash in which the original cluster was located, individuals with more race-specific cars may choose to attach the unit on the steering column alone. This often entails a framework builder fabricating and welding the frame onto the shaft, when you’re looking for a more out-of-the-box alternative, the team at IDIDIT just the ticket.
Made to be used with its Pro-Fab series of competitors steering columns or with current tubing or steering columns, IDIDIT has launched its new light-weight aluminum dash mounts. These brackets are precision laser-cut and Cnc machined, and come in a brushed complete; they slide over the steering pipe, clamp on and adjust easily for use in drag racing, autocross, rough-road, import tuner and related race applications.
The dash brackets can also mount onto 1-¾- or 2-inch tubing so you can attach them directly to a roll parrot cage or custom-fabbed steering column. As soon as installed, they provide a rigid installation surface for most digital dashes in the marketplace, including popular offerings from Racepak, Holley Performance Products, AEM and more.
“The Pro-Fab electronic dash mounts are super-light plus save weight, ” notes Trever Cornwell of IDIDIT. “They provide a rigid mounting surface and can become adjusted to fit the driver, then secured into place. Just like all other IDIDIT products, the Pro-Fab dash brackets are proudly made in the USA. ”
