The Don Ridler Funeral Award is given each year to some custom car maker at the yearly Detroit Autorama. This year the prize went to an incredible 1933 Ford Roadster, named the ‘ Renaissance Roadster’ which was built by Steve’s Car Restoration of Portland, Oregon.
The roadster is a carefully tuned custom made from hand-formed aluminium panels and custom steel framework. The engine is an all aluminum Chevrolet performance 427 CI. linked to a GM 4L60 4-speed automated transmission. There is also independent rear suspension system with custom control arms plus linkages, Wilwood disc brakes along with custom wheels.
Custom made items have been added to the interior, like a 1930 Nash instrument cluster, time period correct Chrysler headlights and customized interior. As you can see from the video, it is really an incredible vehicle all round. You can find away more about them here http://www.realsteel.com/
