Introduced at the Detroit Auto Show fifteen years ago, this compact crossover SUV became very popular due to its attractive look and usability. With the lapse of time, when rivalry on the SUV market had intensified, the sales of the Element noticeably dropped. In 2011 the car was discontinued. Today many automakers tend to revive some of their models which had success in the past. For this reason Honda brings back their famous vehicle hoping to make it more competitive. Undoubtedly, after a long break the 2016 Honda Element will be considerably redesigned.
With quite attractive futuristic look the Element will come with a number of new facilities and features. The new version will be more spacious providing enough room for seven adult passengers. Mainly, its unusual appearance is created by a short hood, stylish headlights and a wide bumper of black plastic. The rear end features a large tailgate. The ultramodern style is underlined by faceted panels of the front, back and sides. In addition, the base model will be equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels.
As far as the interior, the cabin of the 2016 Honda Element will be enough roomy for passengers and some kinds of loads. Furthermore, the space can be enlarged thanks to the folding seats covered with waterproof materials. The floor and the trunk have polyurethane scratch-resistant coating. All of this makes this sport utility vehicle perfect for both city driving and long-distance trips. The technological set consists of an audio system, an LCD-screen, Satellite Radio, Bluetooth connectivity, navigation and other elements.
As some sources claim, the 2016 Honda Element will be powered by a perfect suitable motor. That is a 2.4-liter inline-four V-TEC engine with an electronically controlled throttle. This power unit is capable to deliver over 160 horsepower and 220 N-m of torque. It will allow the Element to accelerate up to 180 km/h. These aren’t bad figures for a vehicle of the compact SUV class. As far as transmission, supposedly, the engine will be matched with five-speed or six-speed automatic. With all of this fuel consumption is rated at 20 mpg for city driving and 25 mpg for highway.
