This two-door sport utility vehicle was introduced in 1969, and when back in 1995 Chevrolet had stopped producing the Blazer, many fans of the car were upset, considering its successor Chevrolet Tahoe to be rather lumbering. Nowadays, expanding their SUV line-up, General Motors will reportedly revive this legendary car. The 2016 Chevrolet Blazer K-5 is expected to be in great demand on the SUV market as it was before. The new version of the famous off-roader will come with some changes in exterior and interior as well as its powertrain which, of course, will give it excellent performance.
After a long break the 2016 Chevrolet Blazer is expected to undergo extensive changes in its exterior. The redesign will mostly concern the new SUV’s front and rear end. For instance, the bumpers will get more aerodynamic shapes harmoniously blended with the headlights and taillights equipped with the Totron LED technology. Impressive look will also be made by 17-inch alloy wheels with especially large tires. Overall, the appearance of the new off-roader surely shows its soundness and ability to pass any kind of tests and provide comfortable and smooth driving.
The Blazer has always been well-known for providing quite comfortable driving on any type of ground. Undoubtedly, the new SUV will continue its high standard with even more convenient features and technological innovations. The off-roader will come with a more spacious cabin which will have three rows of seats, and be able to accommodate six passengers. The folding rear seats will allow transporting more supplementary luggage. The cabin’s design will feature first-range materials, and the electronic part will offer advanced control elements including a quality audio system, an LCD screen, navigation, LED gauges and others.
Although GM has released no official details about the 2016 Chevrolet Blazer, there are some rumors that this upcoming SUV will be based on the GMT 31XX platform which was used for the Chevrolet Colorado, and under the Blazer’s hood there will be a 6.0-liter inline-eight Vortec engine. With good fuel economy this power unit will be capable to show output of 346 horsepower. Of course, the new automobile will have all-wheel-drive reportedly provided by an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Release date and price
Some sources inform that the 2016 Chevrolet Blazer should be expected in the second half of 2016. However, its price is hard to be named since it’s not ruled out that GM will add some extra equipment or additional trims will be developed. Certainly, the new Blazer will be more expensive than its predecessor, but anyway the price can’t be called unaffordable.
